I wrote “Back to You” in 2023 in the 11:59 Songwriting group. The prompt was “12”which is a beautifully symbolic number in many spiritual traditions. In some, it represents divine order, cosmic harmony, completion – endings and beginnings. For others, the number represents the journey to wholeness through recovery…

I felt into the yearning we share to experience these things, the hunger for a sense of “returning”and “belonging” and “home” and how we experience distraction, addiction and the heaviness of our stories holding us down and keeping us up at night, sweating through the sheets, worrying, anxious and wishing for a sense of peace. This is a song from that state. The moments of surrender, the moments when hope is born from despair and our quiet insides start to reach out from the muck back toward the sun…praying we too can reunite with the wholeness we yearn to remember. I hope you find love, healing and a return to your beautiful soul in these melodies and rhythms.
