Wendy Colonna reflects on performing at HAAM Day in Austin and the role music can play in caring for the people who make a music community.

HAAM Day is one of those Austin traditions that reminds me how deeply music and community are braided together here.

I joined Graham Weber, Graham Wilkinson and other Austin musicians at Sagebrush for HAAM Day in 2024.

HAAM has spent years helping working musicians access healthcare, and I'm always grateful for opportunities where playing a show can also help take care of the people who make this city sound like itself.

Music is work. It is also community care. Sometimes a stage gets to be both.
